Birthday Lady

Birthday Lady

My lady comes behind me like a brown mole,
walking on air, adjusting things, makes me whole,
a word here, a word there, sometimes a prayer,
if I'm looking for something special - I know where.

No age today so they say, just be timeless,
let's be fair,if you wish then you can guess;
it seems like yesterday since we first met,
your long hair, wide smile, I can never forget.

If you're not here, a breeze comes, I know it's you,
making me safe, in shades of indigo and blue,
they say that's turquoise that wraps like brocade,
permanent, always there and will never fade.

Enjoy this special day, it's your time from above,
I'm here, to be with you now and forever, my love.

WOW!!...what a BEAUTIFUL sonnet my friend.....Firstly ~ it has absolutely perfect metering and adheres VERY well to the requirements of being classified as a grade A Sonnet...Secondly ~ this subject matter is SO moving...so touching and reverent.....I'm assuming the author is speaking to a spouse or someone VERY close who passed away.....making these lines exceptionally powerful ~

               ~ "If you're not here, a breeze comes, I know it's you
                   Making me safe, in shades of indigo and blue...."
