Black

Black

Thoughts, shameful, inky black
Through my blackened heart snakes another crack
Is this anxiety or a heart attack
Once in the black hole you can't come back
Black murky waves crash overhead
A dull black morning, stay in bed
I'm never hungry but always fed
I'm still here breathing, might as well be dead
Full black pupils void of light
A brain dissolving in sludge and shite
Although I try with all my might
The black smoke suffocates my screams tonight

You've described, quite vividly I might add, how I feel each morning I awake, Jayne.
We must be cautious of how closely we sit on the edge of the abyss.
Once we fall in it's very difficult to claw our way back again.
Loved this poem.
Bravo!
