Black coffee

Black coffee

Those winter midweek mornings
It’s another gloomy day
A cup of strong black coffee
Keeps those Monday blues away
You peek out through the curtains
Rain dominates the view
You know that drizzly fine stuff
The sort that soaks you through
You make your way to downstairs
The house is barely lit
You trip on things left on the stairs
Go arse right over tit ..
You have to skip your breakfast
Only time to make a brew
Because you snoozed it five times
When you should of snoozed it two
The windscreen on the car is froze
The empty fuel light’s on
You should of filled up yesterday
Too busy having fun
Radio plays the Morning news
Like the weather it’s so bleak
In British style you force a smile
And crack on through the week
