Black coffee

Those winter midweek mornings
It’s another gloomy dayÂ
A cup of strong black coffee
Keeps those Monday blues away
You peek out through the curtainsÂ
Rain dominates the view
You know that drizzly fine stuff
The sort that soaks you through
You make your way to downstairsÂ
The house is barely litÂ
You trip on things left on the stairsÂ
Go arse right over tit ..
You have to skip your breakfastÂ
Only time to make a brewÂ
Because you snoozed it five times
When you should of snoozed it two
The windscreen on the car is froze
The empty fuel light’s on
You should of filled up yesterdayÂ
Too busy having funÂ
Radio plays the Morning news
Like the weather it’s so bleakÂ
In British style you force a smile
And crack on through the week
