The Blank Page

The Blank Page                                                                                                                             Intimidates everybody

Those who've set pen to pad
from Hemingway to my Dad

The big question is:
Will that fear consume you?
dragging you down to a long, unwritten death
Or will that fear be conquered
like it is for me and so many others

Each day it never gets easier
but with practice you will know that feeling
that only few have felt

When you have conquered the blank page
when you have made friends with it

You will enjoy the sweet, sweet nectar
that flows forth like honey and milk

And ultimately you will find salvation
not in a drink, or a dance, but in a page.

A page, once uncovered,
that now stands filled with ink and
Chicken Burrito goodness

And you will be saved, set free,
in that moment
in that page.
