BLURRED LINES

Do these lines truly exist?
Do we define in black and white?
Crystal clear like muddy waters
Out of view, so out of sight
Itâs been questioned and debated
Devastated lives both sides
YES and NO are not related!
So why confusion in the guides?
************************
Did she want it? Was he presuming?
Did he overstep the mark?
Has he played this game so many times?
Another fumble in the park
DEFENSE say she was gagging
Cos her skirt was barely there
Asked him for a cigarette
Shared a cab without a care
PROSECUTION is a tough one!
A short dress does not scream RAPE
âDid you respond when she said NO!â my friend
âCan you repeat that for the tape?â
************************
Blurred mind and thoughts create blurred lines
Or do they, should we know?
Would YOU read all the signals right?
If you saw âgreen to goâ!
Did he hear her when she shouted NO?
In the throws of his own lust
Did he STOP when she cried out in fear?
OR hear the sign for one last thrust!
************************
Not all a clear cut âstoryâ
When the innocent fall down
Blurred lines create such heartache
Can drive a good man out of town
Innocent âtil guilty
But the courtroom has adjourned
Tarnished with a label
Before the ârealâ truth can be learnt
They passed the noose; hung out to dry!
Perhaps he was to blame?
A nasty evil sordid man?
Or misjudged in some wicked game
************************
Itâs been questioned and debated
Devastated lives both sides
YES and NO are not related
No more confusion in the guides
Blurred lines should not exist
We should define in black and white
Crystal clear should be the message
BLURRED LINES DONâT MAKE IT RIGHT

Great content to this poem Rachel, totally agree with the debate, as a father with both sons and daughters i can definitely see it from both angles, nice write X:)
Thanks Jason, it's a tough one to call, and even more difficult to try and get the point across in a poem lol!! Always appreciate your viewpoint :)x
Rachel Gardiner,

Thanks Williamsji Maveli, your comments are much appreciated :)
Cheers Chris, I really appreciate your kind comments! I wasn't sure about this one to be honest for the reasons you have said. I'm a strong advocate for saying the way it is and not covering up stuff just for the sake of political politeness.  When things are spoken of and out in the open for me it makes it less harmful and easier to deal with; but in fareness that is my humble opinion and in such a broad spectrum of people not all may want to read this kind of stuff.  The positive comments I have received up to now made me decide not to delete it lol!!  As you know Chris I have written some deep and dark poetry lol, but I would never want to offend:)
Lawyers in the UK are usually known as solicitors Chris lol:)
Rachel Gardiner,
Please accept my congrats on your winning nomination. Regards & Love from WILLIAMSJI MAVELI
