Brahms Lullaby

Brahms Lullaby

Little donkey, we will rock you, welcome to here,
if you knew, you may want to remain inside my dear;
select a space between pandemics, 400 years enough,
anything else, wars, famine, pubs closing, will be tough.

I pass my friend who is long gone, Hazel you missed it,
there were some times when I just felt I wanted to quit;
I'm still here and now all my family are up in heaven,
you wonder, if it will be better if we all begin again.

God, this lullaby goes on forever, no wonder baby sleeps,
perhaps we can progress, maybe AI will give us quantum leaps;
maybe 100 years ago, the ladies were drooling at Valentino,
little did they know, later they could have Redford or Schofield.

Didn't someone put the baby in a basket floating down river,
might have been best, at least they would have peace forever.
