Brain Infestation

Brain Infestation

Skittering and pitter-pattering
The insects have made me their home
In my brain, down my spinal cord
Leaving little unexplored

Gnawing on vessels and nerves
Slowly replacing thought with foam
The cockroaches leave me stuttering
And to fend for my own

Not yet rotten, I’m decomposed
Won’t be long until flesh's exposed
The maggots poke at my eyeballs
Slither in and out my ears
I can’t even hear my own calls
As the last of me disappears
