BREAKING AWAY

My tears won't come out of hiding
Though I feel moisture behind my eyes
I feel the edge of sadness, creeping
I hear the sounds of stifled cries
I can't I let anyone see me
The way I truly feel inside
I hide behind a smile
Trying to appear so dignified
Why do I have to hide my feelings?
Why can't I let the world see me?
But every since I can remember
My feelings were kept under lock and key
"Nobody wants to see or hear you!"
"Go to your room, if you're going to cry!"
Well, I guess I found my answer
To the mystery of; Why?
It's time to break out of hiding
I'm the one now holding the key
I was forced to follow unspoken rules
The one enforcing them now, is me
So if you see me expressing emotions
It's okay, just let me be
I can't hold my feelings in anymore
This is me~ Just being me
I don't have this down yet
It's still hard after all these years
I'm fighting to break out of hiding
Still searching for my tears

My Dear Gayle,
.
I have just read your latest two poems, and was overcome by similarities that we both share. You will see that I often write my comments in poetic form, inspired by the power of the words that I read.
.
I have found a poetic partner
For whom cadence is a must
If a line does not flow freely
She will quickly it adjust
.
Of course the content must be cohesive
To keep the readers' interest high
Her unity is spotless
She must have had the same Professor as did I
.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
I am a story teller that writes with a beginning, a middle and I try to end the story on a good note. I have never been able to write prose or freestyle, it always has to rhyme. I think that can
trap and stop the flow, but it's just my personal style. I'm a narrative writer with a story to tell! Thank you so kindly for your comment. I enjoy you're style of writing, and I'll be looking for your poetry! Thanks again!
As will I be looking for yours!!
