BROKEN CASTLE

BROKEN CASTLE

Within a castle up so high she waits for her prince; Day in, day out she waits for this: A single smile, True Love's First Kiss. Convinced she is that he will come and the spell she's under will be undone. But she still waits, yet not in vain; A sorrow song she sings of pain. A voice so haunting yet beautiful, is stuck within her precious skull. Lyrics written with a blade, of all the tears from yesterday. A new day comes and still no prince; what is to become of this? Locked away above the town? Where she sits and weeps as she looks down...Upon her face she wears a frown, atop her head: A golden crown. But satisfied she isn't still as she weeps beside her window sill. The town proceeds to stir about as silent screams escape her mouth...Her hope has faded into doubt as endless tears she sits and counts. The satin sheets upon her bed become a poignant noose instead. A slipknot made of golden thread to slip around her gorgeous head. For years she's waited for this man but she's left forgotten where she stands. No prince in white, no cavalry, no gentleman, no chivalry. It seems to be the only way: To end her sorrow on this day. Dressed in black, behind a veil, to hide her face and pain so well. The story tells itself, you see; A lonely woman yearned to be, a bride, a friend yet no one still...so she fell gracefully from her window sill...
