Don't forget every lyric that was you and me,
now battered and broken, heartfelt mysery.
I felt every moment, each breath held the line,

This lasting effect sent a tear-waterfall, 
as words with lost meaning lay facing a wall.
We can't hold the distance in getting things right,

In tatters, torn pieces, why can't we reflect?
perfecting our song has lost total effect.
As lyrics lay dormant refusing to play,
on hold are the versus, our once yesterday.

While lyrics lay scattered upon my piano,
their memory holds clear in the sweet afterglow.
As musical voice starts to waken the soul,
I'll piece back together what once made us whole.
