Autumn Rose
Tranquility
Curiosity lured her there as a fragrance touched the air.
It was at a place when the end of Spring had blended with the beginning of Autumn
and where beauty blossomed to reveal velvet petals that danced with the breeze.
As the dew clung elegant she took in the scent of purity,
while the crisp morning welcomed her to view natures effect.
It was a moment in time that only the finest of weather could bring
and as her eyes strayed upon the delicacy, its colour revealed a bold crimson red.
In silence she admired the tranquility of what she was about to achieve.
A glow warmed her as the tip of the brush began to glide its final strokeĀ
to a masterpiece of enchantment.
It was then that the sun's rays lit it up to unveil her finished portrait of,
an Autumn Rose.

Your opening line sets a high standard. I do love an internal rhyme. But you continue that with the end of spring, beginning of autumn which sets the perfect picture. I think you are right to leave the revelation of the painting to the end. "Velvet petals that danced with the breeze" is a lovely line.Ā
