Poem -

Build up and Tear Down

You build me up with the words you speak

You tell me I'm beautiful and I should not think otherwise.

I put my trust in you because I know you care.

To make it better, you trust me as well.

I share with you my dark secrets

The ones that nobody else knows.

Still you do not judge me.

But instead you tell me I am human

And that I am not alone.

At my hardest moments

As I drown in my deep dark thoughts.

You take my hand and pull my up

As you tell me that my life is worth it.

That I am here for a reason

So I do not give up.

Instead, I become strong.

This strength is like no other

Stronger than a wall of bricks

And stronger than a rod of steel.

It is sealed with your words that keep my head high.

But sure enough my strength faded.

My wall was broken

My rod was melted

The seal was broken by the only person possible,

You.
