Bulletproof

Bulletproof

I just want to fight the fires.
Want to be defiant.
Want to plead for amnesty.

You’re lying in your foxhole
You’ve got a gripe with someone.
Wish I’d be another casualty

I just wonder what happened to you?
Where did the time go?
What could you have done differently?

You could’ve been so kind.
Or maybe changed your mind.
I’ve never been behind.
And just so you know.

I’m now a million miles ahead.
And so, so much happier,

Than you could only dream.

Being Me

An interesting poem, Max. The beginning shows someone who is, perhaps, in deep thought about something. Someone with a fair soul who hints they would like to be defiant. There's some sorrowful vibes running through the middle but by the end of the poem there is definitely defiance!
