Burnt Emotions

Burnt Emotions

To cope with the uncertainty of life
is to walk bare footed across hot coals
red fiery rocks against cold flesh
is no guarantee of fulfilling my goals

the heat rips through the soles of my feet
burning right into the centre of my heart
with peeling skin amongst the sore blistersΒ
life's emotions are tearing me apart

as the burning embers of this pathway
mimics the journey I have struggled along
I pray this sadness will heal my scars
for what doesn't kill me, will make me strong !
