Butterfly
The more time we spent apart
It was like more lessons had been learnt
It was my goal to have growthÂ
And that is something I have earned
It’s the small changes in myself that I see
The person I’d always wanted to be
I saw the good in youÂ
When others did not
I defended your nameÂ
Only you somehow forgot
I was in fear of losing someone I lovedÂ
I was in fear of becoming lost
I had to find my way to escape
Before my heart got hurt even more
Before it was to late
On the other side of fearÂ
Lives freedom
You don’t deserve too see me grow my wings
see me learn to fly
All I want to say isÂ
I wish you the best
Goodbye.

Let your strength show through your poetry!
Bravo poet.
You captured my heart with this poem. The story is upbeat
and inspirational. How you can be so in love with a person
that even when the end has come, to part ways, you manage
to pick yourself up, dust off your poetic voice, then jump for
joy when you wake up one morning, with the courage to write
something painfully beautifully.
So, touching!
I’m also pretty partial to butterflies.
Favorite Lines:
You are like, a beautiful monarch butterfly with spectacular wings
that dare to dream.
I was inspired by your poem, to write a poem about monarchs.
Butterflies, represent change, perseverance and strength.
Do you have any other poems about nature, or about butterflies?Â
