Final Goodbye

Final Goodbye

I got the call
It was his time to fly
But how can I possibly fit
A lifetime of love
Into a five minute goodbye?

He’s gone, I know that
I’m still coming to terms with knowing he can’t come back
This shit hurts, it breaks my heart
It’s slowly tearing my soul apart

I find comfort looking up at the stars
Knowing that through the power of love
We’re not so far apart

Everyday I live on earth
I promise to make you smile
I promise to check in with you
Once in a while

It pains me to say you’re in the sky
I guess this really is
The final goodbye.
