Death By Nightshade

Love has not prevailed
And there's so much to communicate
To the one I've yet to know
I run time and time again
To this place I fear is death
Together conversing
As if we're only catching up
And I may never ruminate
Through every root
That binds the multitude
To unveil the rarity that is you
You are always in my head
And in my dreams, your soul is kept
But forever you fade without a touch
All my colours
Are locked in darkness
As love wilts
Where once the florets blossomed
And there I mourn
The memory of the everlasting
When alive I was
And never could we be forgotten
And if I am to end it all
Would your longing become
An existential loss
Would you feel the gravity
Of my descent and ruin
And if we were to meet again
How could I ever implore
Another life from you
When I'm the one who tarnished
Our chance in time
And the suffering that perfects
The endeavour to find
You in death, you in light
At the end of travail
And the trail that winds
By a skyline surrender
Abhorrent thoughts begin to fall
And my conscience is all but etching
A valid reason to go on
For my only desire ceases to matter
Yet deadly as a dream it was
And as empty ever after
The poison spreads
And my heart, it swells
Out to you, whomever I belong
The nightshade I kiss
For the love I've never known
Absorbing into my lips, to obliviate
The embedded seed of hope
Though exquisite was the dream
Which flourished
Under summer's florescent flare
Maturing through
The resistance of youth
While intensity nourished
But only to starve
My soul into its grave
