CAGE NAME

CAGE NAME

Thrown in and locked away, a wee babe still
Name your cage and grab its bars - that’s your free will
Every day it will shrink and so its space will fill
While you remain the same size til
The cage crushes you with it

Fingers coiled so loyally
Round the cage’s teeth
Weep and thrash so noisily
Til you no longer breathe

“I want to die seasoned”
Those were your final thoughts
“I don’t want to be fired but be killed by my own boss
To balance out the bitter, pour some chocolate sauce
Over my dead body and forget who I once was”

A dutiful civilian
Such a great loss
