CALLED AND FOUND WANTING

These ebony hoursĀ
When muse is well met
Offer this night negative fare
For screen or pen
As often found
Failure follows boast
And once eager words
Now practice to alludeĀ
So deserted I sit
Portrayed by my tongue
Bragging of loquacious bent
Only to be found, addle headed and mute
It appears I have allowed
My crocodilian sized oral orifice
To over load my somewhat minuscule canary sized posteriorĀ
Exit stage left
May I fade into the inkened night
Take solice in anonymity
Or better yet obscurity
Forgive My braggadocio
I bite my tongue for it wagging
Impotently flappingĀ
When better bound
Adieu
Ā

Ā
Poignant and excellently penned, a pleasure to read, drawing the reader in so immensely. I love the beginning āthese ebony hoursā beautiful imagery, continued throughout the piece. A five star poem, indeed!
I was clawing at remnants for some reason tonight, finding myself almost wordless.
thank for your time and commentĀ

My father always used to say to me, "Son," (he often called me that...son) never write a check with your mouth that your ass can't cash.
I have lived by those words my entire life, John.
Good poetry.
~Dean :)
Often I find checks hard to cash due to an unruly tongue.
biting seems to no avail.
thank you

Sure...
I know I know maybe I should complain about an absence of Subject rather than an absence of words but I considers both part of what is tradionally known as writers block.
definitely Ā a āmolassesā write, sticky and slow..
