Poem -

calm love

calm love

in the light of an autumnal midday
two half-naked bodies, still
under the sheets
yours freshly showered
mine lying next to yours
having slept
a little more than usual
your hand cuddles my back
my hand cuddles your chest

to live our time
together, with no haste
that’s all that matters
no more words
no more caresses
no more reasons
with nothing else to give or receive
after having done everything and
having exhausted all ways
of making love and still
keep on loving
to keep on like a raft floating
in the middle of the sea
making of our love
something bigger
than a calm sea

to live our time together
making love with permanence
two lovers with a naked soul and
two semi-naked bodies
saying nothing
doing nothing
having to go nowhere
having no more love stories
to invent and still
keep on loving
old and in love
like a calm sea
that can’t help sighing
in the light of an autumnal midday
after many years of loving
in the oscillation of a time
that has no end and a love
that has no age
