Can A Leopard Change it's Spots ?
Living in this world I am trying to survive.
on "Benefits" is impossible, so I have to "Duck and Dive".
No chance of a job, that door has been closed.
So I am left with no choice., if I want to eat and be clothed.
The Life I had led which I truly regret,
what more can I do to repay this debt ?
Can a leopard change it's spots ?
This has often been asked.
And most people say no, it's an impossible task.
I must disagree and I need to prove I am right,
so I will continue to try, and continue to fight.
The odds are against me and I now realise how high.
Buy I am faced with this challenge, which I approach with a sigh.
It's impossible to imagine what makes people tick.
And I will not waste my time trying to learn this new trick.
I ask "what can I do to improve my life"
And the answer is simple, I must cut with a knife.
So I am breaking away to do the best that I can.
I want to begin a new chapter, and behave like a Man.

You know I read it and it is inspirational to me. I am a former Lieutenant in corrections. I believe we can be better we just have to take one step at a time. Each step in the right direction is a success story. Make one each day. Keep the poem going
Thanks for your honest comments Greg. I appreciate them from a man who has been around this type of situation I'm talking about. You've met people who are very much like myself, I'm very sorry to admit. But I'm trying Greg, and I take each day as it arrives. I've been "out and about" now for 13 years. I must admit that I've had a great deal of support from different people who have been a great help.
