Candles Now But Wax

(A tribute to Ricardo Antonio Garcia, may he rest in peace.)
Lights faded low
dimming
into a freshly fallen darkness,
boiling puddles of extinguished flame.
Hours later....
head rises
in stewingÂ
dried complications,
the stale burnt wickÂ
overshadowed by a foreign fragrance,
and nighttime's work station
crutches an anchoring disabled body
the mind
Jupiter miles away.
Yesterday, TuesdayÂ
already forgotten
but Sunday lives like a light
dazzling, burnt
into memory.
Thoughts.....
go out to the greatness
of something new
right out of the box,
made hard by the wind
set to fire, beginÂ
countdown
predetermined is a lock.
If everÂ
an awarded finale moment,
forwarding all my bloodÂ
to be signed as ink
flesh and bone
sealed in ashes
WILL
be last wordsÂ
all can think.
Once a candleÂ
burned so long
there seemed no way it ever
die down,
within the staining
hardened wax
different lights
will burn anew.

Thank you Cherie. He has inspired my way of writing for all time. Definitely going to miss his writes. He told me about Tomb of Words and checking it out when we discussed our own beliefs and he was very straight forward and a very interesting man, but I never got around to it. I would like to see Cosmofunnel feature some of his work and honor him. Peace C.
Most excellent brother poet!!...... You have done him justice here....... the eloquence of his phrasing was uniquely his own...... often times a bit "Over the top" but with intense conviction balancing out the sometimes difficult (for me to get through) edges...... but what you've done here is quite honoring...." set to fire, begin count down, predetermined is a lock."...I read and commented on the poem you so wisely pointed me toward the other day..... It read as if there was an awareness of the days ahead...... he had a kind of hidden genius interwoven in his stuff and VERY high regard for other poets........I like the way you did the final two lines of this piece....... It's a fitting remembrance for all that he did where other writers were concerned ...an awesome elegy my friend!!...... still haven't come up with words for him yet myself...... which is weird for me..... anyway, God bless you for this and may Ricardo Antonio Garcia's memory and gifts remain alive through writers such as yourself!!....... well done....... perfect pic!!....... saving this one.......... peace.......T xo
Thanks T. He had quite a gift for writing prose, and was very inspiring and influential on my way of writing. I really will miss his writes here on cosmo.Â
