CANT LOOK AWAY

Quarantined for years
Hiding behind the fearsÂ
Shed so many tearsÂ
Unable to look awayÂ
Finding comfort in every day's toilÂ
Doing two full time jobÂ
Staring at drivers next to me
Or just a quick glanceÂ
As i commute on crowded highways and streetsÂ
Theirs the only faces I see
Except for my new found friendsÂ
On radio and tv
My cellphone is silentÂ
As though muted
Family and friends like a faded dreamÂ
Unable to recall the last time seen
But at times, I love the secluded me
Then like a pitching star
Coming from afar, she came my wayÂ
This is a new dayÂ
She loves me.. and gives me loveÂ
But I am wounded beyond repairÂ
The pains of my past dominatesÂ
Life's atmosphere
And I just can't look away.

I think your words could be an echo for many who read this. The isolation currently being faced by so many, and then past nightmares that haunt our present and impact our ability to allow love in. Well written Wilford. As always you are such a prolific writer on the subject of the heartÂ
Gwen :)Â
Thank you for taking the time to read and commenting on my thoughts Gwendoline.Â
