Capitol Promises

Capitol Promises

All is an empty promise
The suits on the hill dishonest,
The placebo whose name is change
Used for money a pocket to exchange.
The majority now suffer
Our potential festers in the gutter
From the 1%’s laps,
Comes our ultimate collapse.
The cry from the youth
Who yearn to know the truth,
Our country in ruin, we sit helplessly
Wondering, is this our destiny?
