CARER

CARER

I put my wife to bed, she can't walk too well now,
need strengh, where will it come from, you wonder how;
however, she's made history, cancer dispersing they said,
I hope it goes away - her good health is all I ever wanted.

My life has changed, we take for granted, could have been me,
the hair has gone, will come again with her beautiful mystery;
she taught me so many things, how to love and cook food,
you think twice about your existence and the way life is viewed.

We travelled the world, everywhere, to India and the far east,
when trouble came, a friend said: 'Don't be bullied by the beast,'
we won't, we'll fight to regain health, as is her perfect right,
so she can walk again, into sunshine in the evening light.

See the smile, whenever she came it just knocked me out,
with her, now I realise what this life was really all about.
