Carnivore

Carnivore

Devour a dispirited heart
Reap this cadaver apart
Sweetmeats ravenously cleared
Consumed by all things feared

Damaged goods shattered
Bits and pieces scattered
Humanity says suck it up
Smile through life’s disrupt

Reject an unbearable loom
Elude that harbinger doom
Too fantastical to ignore
Depression is a carnivore

Infernal hell, oh the hypocrisy
Flayed by this monstrosityΒ
Feelings have no bearing in life
Be content with the twisted knife

This melancholia exists
A next meal never dismissed
Demons inhabit a dank room
Glutting on inconsolable gloom

Wowww that's sooo awesome!! My teenage son began suffering from a form of depression like you describe it Β ESP the fear part and the harbinger doom , sense of doom after he survived a trauma and was prescribed mess for PTSD. The meds messed him up as before the meds he didn't have depression ah.
your poem is so creatively awesome in how you describe it all in words in marvellous poetic dark deep ink. Kudos for that.

pls pleez do review my newest poem too, it's nice to hear from fellow poets for exchange of thoughts or it feels like a monologue.
