Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem

Can one catch the shower of sunshine?
Or does it, like the mist at dawn, evaporate into sky?
Happiness is like the sunshine
And like the mist, for it disappears before it is missed
Smiles flee into the day before we understand their meaning
And as dusk falls, like the draping of a curtain, sunlight flies away
~
Can one capture the breath of springtime?
Or does it, like the doe, sprint into the darkness of trees?
The warbling stream does not despise the doe for its visit,
And the rippling stones do not refrain from their song
Yet we overlook the bright splashes of living the day
As summer takes over the changing stage
~
Can one catch the giggle of a child?
Or does it lift to the angels as thanks for innocent things?
Aging takes the brightness of purity, turning it into hairs of grey
And like the tick of tricky time, all is gone in an instant
Seizing the moment is never more important
Then when our time of dying, has inevitably arrived
