Cast Away Your Fears, Oh! Pirate

Cast away my worries and sadness of yesterday
For the deepest part of the water will release our freedom
Release all the past memories of what could have been
The silence and darkness of the waters whirl deep beneath the sand
Beneath the bondage and suffering of those who believed in you
Believed in a future together, a love of a woman, and a child to bear
Cast away the pain of the world, the centuries of hunger, poverty, hate and crime
Buried deep are the treasures, seashells, rusted metal, and many bodies lie
Cold and yet warm beats the heart of the turtles swimming graciously by
Ship wrecked remains of the lost war of shame and dishonest wounds
Cast away, now cast away, your fears, Oh! Pirate
Your sail has been gone for many, many a day

Love your poem, so much meaning delivered for the deep pains seated in a hopeless a heart.Â
Thanks, Shirley
It really is about a man who could only give to his own needs and not to a real purpose or meaning in a life with a family.
I applaud this piece... great poem and perfectly written.
Morris-
Thanks for the comment, I love this one as well, I wanted to draw a picture for it, but haven't got it done yet.
I draw and paint portraits, etc. Can't help my self, it was born in me, art on my dad's side and music on my mom's side, guess it could be worse, huh?
