Castle Heart

Castle Heart

I can see it clearly now,
The heart is like a castle.
Walls tumbled down around the tower
Show the outcome of the battle.
No place for the archers now,
The wall-men have long gone,
Bastion tower lies exposed,
Sits waiting for the one.
Trees grow wild upon the ridge,
Where battlements once stood;
Ripples spread across the moat
Midst battered drawbridge wood.
A place of silence this is now,
Staring out upon the sea;
No want of conflict anymore
It wants for only thee.
And there stand I, for I cannot sleep,
My dreams and doubts are brewing
Can only pray my soul to keep
While the heart becomes a ruin.
