Charming

Infatuation
What a slight of hand
Seems to come from nowhere
Upturns norms
Confusing the hormones
Mercury amok in the zoo of the gut
Sending monkeys to the heart
And to the stomach avians
Eyes mezmerised by some apparent quality
Only visible to me
For a time fleeting
Until our next meeting
When the novelty wears off
What a pest this infatuation is
Gotta learn to resist it hard
Tell it to fuck off
Before I humiliate myself
Again

Love the backhanded approach you gave. Sometimes swearing can break the rhythm and message of the poem, but in your poetry it has only added to the effect your reinforcing. That takes talent my friend. Peace and smiles to you. Your friend Max
Thanks Max.
I do drop it from time to time, and you're right that sometimes it disrupts the flow. In some cases even breaking flow is effective if shock is the intent. But I am clad it integrated well here.
