Child of Water

A  harsh winter and many hungry, crying inside from starvation as the white painted woman
Reaches out to her Apache tribe praying to the gods asking for a miracle to save them from the monsters
Thirst and desire to steal their food their drink and then they perish, this can not be
A spirit of life came down upon them in rain and lightning the storm would speak
To the woman telling her she would be with child and he would be the brave
A child born, a child of water, strong and powerful he would fight off the Giant Owl-Man
With a blue stone of turquoise protecting him in a duel of arrows the monster he did rid
Later he would hunt the monster of buffalo, the beasts of victory and food they did feast
No longer hungry, no longer weary of the cold and the dark of the night, a new flight
With the honor of the Child of Water a spirit of true life, now a man with great pride he holds the water of life
Apache prayers of sacred worship and hope for the new year to come and prosper once again
Let the monsters be gone and the Child of Water take us to the new moon of our future
Our native land be free with song and dance we celebrate a new beginning from the gift
A Child of Water lay upon us as we breathe
