Childhood Memories
When I look back at the foreshadows of time
Such memories come to mind
Like a Netflix original movie
Spending time with the family felt groovy.
Back in the day, when I was four
We moved away, to a town afar
Starting a new life, a new journey
In a small dinky town of Keansburg.
New memories may appear
For a new chapter is becoming crystal clear
My parents did their best
To keep me clothed and fed like the rest.
I said my prayers
Made my bed
Long before I knew it
Time was passing me by.
What started off as one entity
Met a set of two
For they became three
And their new lives began.
Long and behold three became four
But what was four would have been five
A lost of one with sorrow and shock
Eventually that four became five again.
Now we are one big conceivable family.
Memories can be golden,
Yet have gloomy abnormalities
Many nights filled with joy,
And days filled with anger.
Just twenty-six years
Living in the same old place
The memories from movies of times past
Gives me bliss of future commemorations.
Time is flowing like the River of Nile
Days become weeks
As weeks becomes months
And months turn into years.
Now I am a man of 30.
Looking back and reading the past
I realize these memories are what constructed me
Just glancing back at my many accomplishments
Nothing prepares you for the future.
My accomplishments consisting of:
Baseball, from a tiny tot to a young man.
Choir, singing and dancing my little heart out.
Boy Scouts, a young boy becoming a man.
Chef, skills of the hands and taste buds of a God.
Softball, killing the ball like there’s no tomorrow.
Author, writing how I feel and observing my surroundings.
Memories …. We all have them!!!!
