CHILDHOOD TOYS

Space hoppers were popular when I was a kid
Bouncing for hours was something I never did
Bright orange colour and a weird looking face
They reminded me of a creature from outer space
The Action Man figure was the rage for a small boy
I never had this soldier which went as a toy
With his crewcut hair and his army clothes
It was something which frieghtened me I suppose
Most young kids pocessed a bat or ball
I remember having them both if I recall
Playing football or cricket on the local park
Was something that left a reminder and a mark
My childhood memories of toys gone by
Will be with me to the day that I die

Hello Kieran...
This reminds me of a story I read about an elderly man who played Kick the can as a child and he realized that when he stopped playing the game he got old fast...
He insisted that was the secret to staying young...
Don't stop kicking the can...
Great write!
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs...
