Poem -

Christmas' Past

Wiping away the fog to peer inside the darkened window;
Shadows of shapes of Christmas’ past.
When was the last time this old toy store saw life?
When did it last see the wide eyes of children in awe and wonder?
Closing my eyes I can see the blinking lights, hear the clicks and beeps of toys;
Whirling, dancing, bouncing along the shelves and floors.
What a magical, wonderful, beautiful, time this used to be.
A time before the malls and black Friday sales.
A time when even adults still believed in the magic of the season.
