Christopher

Christopher

In Sussex the woods house a bear
in Devon bookshops occupy my mind

His name is Pooh - with friends
in store and in the woods

Ever mindful there is Christopher
who scampers between simple pleasures
well-mannered yet surreal

In the woods their kinship grows
like a leaf upon a tree

Yet when walking stairs Pooh drags
his feet plodding as he goes

Without the woods or Christopher
he'd never be on show

And when in bed he's just a bear
and Christopher just a boy
