Chrysalis
"There is breath in light" he said
As he placed my feet beside the dead
To walk the path so many tread
"Let the stars be your map, and love be your bread
Feel fed in every step"
Wide eyed I spied a glistening tide
An amalgamation of all thoughts rise
Like waves of the sea in a tranquil storm
Flesh abandoned, I feel reborn
Soft subtle intrinsic beams
Gleam like long lost wishful dreams
As clouds of purple, blue and white
Exhale a trail paved through the night
And as I feel my thoughts set sail
I hear a voice "Let love prevail"
Clad me with its luminous spark
Ignight my sight, and split the dark
Aloft the infinite cosmic fringe
I chance a glance and find my wings
Transformed I feel my soul take flight
And find...yes

STUNNING is precisely the word I too had in mind for this piece of magnificent poetry......the craftsmanship of this piece is to be applauded....the bolded dialogue works wonders for the entirety of this piece....it ignites the greatness of the author's intent and shines light on the powerfully profound nature of the subject matter itself!! I agree with Marion in pointing out a specific phrase ~

Hi Gwen, didn't I say I would be back XD? Anyway, I'm not on my laptop today so I may have to keep this short! But I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this write, not only because of its solid poetic technique and structure but how you manage to Express really raw emotions throughout. I think that's what inspires me most of all about your poetry, managing to convert words into emotions so freely. Its incredible. This poem also has a interesting taste of following ones morals, something I can relate to heavily. Like the world, our decisions and what drives them aren't always black and white. 👏👏👏👏 oh I LOVE this! The rhyme scheme lifts this piece from brilliance to awesome brilliance. The question and answer type delivery gives this piece a lot of strength and power. And all this before I even mention the sumptuous lines that any reader of poetry over to feast on. The first stanza draws the reader in with its beauty and its promise of a glorious read. All the lines thereafter are a pure joy to read. This is a VERY special poem Gwen. Fabulous. I wish I could award it all the stars in the universe xx
