Church

Church

Do you believe in God? 'Er, yes, sort of,
I pray in my own way, anywhere, any time,'
my nephew said that churchgoers were hypocrites,
doing one thing, something else when they got home.

Committing adultery, stealing, lack of feeling,
unbiblical sexual orientation and masturbation,
envy, jealousy, seven ( five now ) deadly sins,
hating thy neighbour, not doing good unto others.

Lo, all this stuff from that old masterpiece;
a friend became a minister, free board and lodging,
same as a prisoner but he could be raped or beaten,
not sleeping in doorway, someone may come - 'Get up.'

Someone with long hair and white gown gave me a coat,
he said: 'You do not really have to believe - I didn't.'

A church is not a building, a church is a real thing
Brotherhood and sisterhood and love
cement and bricks can never top this
A church is simply
Love
