Coffee

Coffee

I wake up in the morning, i need to have a cup,
Do not say how are you today, don't even say "What's up",
I need a coffee to start my day, I need those beans to brew,
If you start in my ear too early, I won't even register you.

One day I was half asleep, and shuffled out of bed,
I made my breakfast first, orange juice on my cereal instead,
I gagged and wretched profusely, I wasn't prepared for that,
I tried to run for the bathroom, but tripped over my pet cat.

These days I don't get out of bed, till I hear the kettle on,
As soon as I hear that click, I'll be out of bed before long,
Then step away from the kitchen, until I've had my fix,
That stimulating coffee brew, then I am ready for the day's mix.
