Courage

Courage is not needed in life to go somewhere

You can survive and strive in places you go without courage

But you’ll love the places that you reach with it more

I have lived a life without courage

No friends, because I lack the backbone to make myself known

A life still in motion because I lacked courage

I thought suicide was the answer

But the fear of pain was too great

Self hate began to grow

I thought “I’m not even worthy to die”

It took years to see

The courage in that

Dying is not brave

Dying is not a way out

Dying is not courage

Living is

Because living is one of the hardest things

You will ever do

I think it’s time to show the world our courage
