crushed dreams

Moonlight, star bright
I sing this lullaby tonight
Upon a day I think I might
Be the happiest on this night.
A million things to make a tremor
A million things I can remember
A fool for lust
The touch I trust
I can only hope I may not crush
Underneath the wall I find so safe
I guess this wall isn't fake
Because why would I be scared of something
That only my mind is blundering
Wondering
Am I far enough away
That I won't fall into this place
A mind is a terrible thing To waste
But a mind used can only waste
Time in matters of things not important.
You think these things have much importance
'Til you look back on your life
To see the things that weren't alright
Giving up on those glorious dreams
To see the cash in the seams
Of your pockets, on your jeans
And on your necklaces to see them gleam
When all that would return it seems
Is not fulfilling all your dreams
As much as I tell you not to regret it
Let it,
Marinate your soul so you may be poetic
Remember this always
That there will be days of sorrow
Before a better tomorrow
And all those things of sorrow,
Will bring you your dream of tomorrow.
I guess that's all that's said
But your dream is never dead
You see it in your sleep
And definently in your head
