Damn Crazy

Damn Crazy

Note: this poem doesn't rhyme, or follow really any form or guideline. It is the first thing I've written in months. Be gentle. ***

Silence is more powerful
then all of her words.
 Remember the way
she held herself so poise,
though she felt like falling apart.

The words she composes to lull you into a false recognition-
those are simply for your benefit.

Never confuse her quietness
for feelings of content or serenity.
 There are a thousand storms
 waging dormant behind those eyes.

She is chaos and fire.
With a flicker of her light you can be scorched.
The expression on her face never falters -
 but you are damn crazy
if you think her silence is peace.

I sense unwelcome solitude that can feel quite suffocating. A good write. I liked how you personified silence, gave for a good visual for the reader :)
