Dance of the Dragonflies

Dance free as your translucent slender bodies fling
Showing off colors of topaz and amber gemstones
Captivating beauty as your flirting wings  sing
Upon the icy mirrored waters you shimmer in flight
With two pairs of wings and three pairs of legs
Time slips away as you play a triumphant ballet
Dipping and swaying then circling and off you go
Others curious follow until the waltz of dance
No longer plays as the sunshine bright now fades 
Six legged magical creatures taking off their slippers
As the light dims leaves of the trees draw like curtains 
Dance of the dragonflies so delicate so lovely
Like a kiss in the wind it must end In goodnight
