Darkness and his lies

catching fireflies and chasing dreams
smiling and laughing blissfully 
you seen her there and you had to play
whispering darkness in her brain.
"pretty pretty lies, they'll never die. Come play with the dark side."
she brushed it off and followed love
friends and family rushed along
you pushed her down and skinned her knee
so badly she became weak 
you said the tune so soft and sweet
"pretty pretty lies, they'll never die. Come play with the dark side." 
She danced along to the song but soon walked along 
you waited ever so patiently for the time to come
it was twelve at night and she was all alone
praying for her father to come back home 
you took your chance, and sang the song 
only this time she sang along 
"pretty pretty lies, they'll never die. Come play with the dark side." 
She shook her head and walked along
so you waited till it was time to play 
her sixteenth birthday and her dad never showed 
you started to sing but she changed the song 
"pretty pretty truth
it hurts to much
cut my wrist and slit my  throat 
until next time darkness."
she stood to her feet and jumped gracefully 
darkness won, now it's time to find more fun..
