Darkness Instilled
Ominous scenarios cast toward haste,
Wrenching my innards, leaves a bitter taste.
Breath in my lungs short and thin,
Envisioning the dark before it could begin.
Repeat of scripture played out incessantly,
Heart a flutter and sweaty palms indefinitely.
Reason eroding, clarity a haze,
Battles in secrecy bewilder my days.
A thousand voices echo all but one,
Casualty to my own anxiety’s song.
Doused in cesspools and betwixt by fear,
Evident consumed by stress and career.

Greatly displayed, Simon! Flows ever so sweetly in its delightful measure, while precisely executing the feeling of anxiety!
