Dates In Our Hearts

There's dates we hold and dates that say.
Remember me for just one day.
Christmas, birthdays most you smile.
And some that make our thoughts compile.

When loved ones go we make a note.
And of their words we love to quote.
It makes a lump inside the throat.
Around us tears, a human moat.

We all have loss and some will show.
A nostalgic pic, a yellow bow.
Some will travel to the grave.
In our hearts the love we save.

Light a candle, say a prayer.
Any way that proves we care.
It don't get easy, we learn to cope.
To see again we cling to hope.

So do not slump or stop or cry.
Moving on we have to try.
We wish we had just one more bye.
Nothing worse when loved ones die.

But they loved you and that's the best.
Remember that when laid to rest.
Raise a glass, shed a tear.
You may meet up again, don't fear.
