Daydream

Daydream

I would lie on the grass and gaze at the sky

Chasing that elusive fluffy dog in the rye

I clambered in awe over cumulus castles up there

And rescued princesses with white candyfloss hair

I fought pirates in ships with billowing sails

And scuttled their vessels with cannon ball gales

The wily wind would funnel them all away

And usher in a new scene for me to play

Oh the marvellous things I have seen

On the vast stage of my lofty daydream
