Deadbeat

I used to think I needed you.
To help me be strong, disciplined when mom wasn’t listening. But now I’m older, bolder, taught myself how to lift weight off my shoulder. I was a man before my time. More of a man than you. So you see me doing good now you wanna be a father. Please don’t bother, I’m good. My kids, they’re great. They know everything I know and some. You only care because of my success im not dumb. Part of me is still numb of how you left me when I was young.

Great write my friend.  Funny how they come around when you get success.  Forgiveness though is a gift to yourself not him
