Deeper Than You Think

Deeper Than You Think

No I don't want to feel love
Love left me in a cold and dark place
I remember when love used to make my heart race
Now the image I get of love is that of a sharks face
So should I be content or quell
Why look towards heaven when I'm bound by hell
Surrounded by these walls in this well I dwell
Darkness is my shelter, for it is darkness in which I am compelled
I know I sound hopeless
I feel worthless
Like I'm not even a man at all
I've lost focus
I've reached my lowest
At this point can a man evolve
What else is there to do
Where else is there to go
The sky is the limit
But I may never know
Behind these walls I shout and bellow
But down here I have no voice
Just an echo

Go ahead and scream
No one can save you
For this very well
May very well grave you
Nobody cares
So save your prayers
You've got your problems
And they've got theirs
Maybe if you weren't so stray
And pushed everyone away
No you wanted this well
So in this well you will stay

Pardon my conscience
But it gets lonely in this well
You tend to talk to yourself
When you have no one else
Looking up through this cleft
I no longer feel blessed
This well that I dwell
Has become my nest

So save your breath
And that SOS
This is where you belong
This is home til death
From sunrise til sun die
You'll be right here
Til the well runs dry

......I'll be here

I felt the pain of being trapped just by reading it. This is good, actually really good.
