Deposition

Deposition

There will be an apocalypse,
Oh, there will be!
Not alike what you've been fed,
Not alike your scripture.
There will be
No seraph's trumpet,
No divine savior,
No virgin strumpet,
No evil arbiter.
There will be us and there will be you,
And there will be blood and a slew
Of poor, rising from their wormless tombs,
With souls incinerated, bodies incapacitated,
We will let our Fury's muzzle loose.

In that heavenly Hades
Every suppressed Woman,
Every oppressed Man,
Every castrated Child,
And every masticated Pride
Will rise,
And munch on the thick throat of despots,
Suckling on every vein of yours,
Claiming what was once ours.

At those gory hours,
We'll paint the azure sky crimson red,Ā
And you, who have feasted
Upon the excrements of a foisted democracy,
Will be baptized by your blood.

Does this make us savages?
Are we senseless ravagers?
Let our descendents decide.
We're sick of the darkness of this shell,
Let us defy and dance by the tolling knell.

WIcked creepy read, very entertaining. The lines above really stood out to me compared to the rest as i believe we are our own worse enemies most of the time and our government is fuel on that fire . Your structure, uncanny vocabulary and internal rhyme makes for added drama. Very enjoyable read~RobĀ

Hello Robert.
Thanks for your commentary.
How do we differ from the very dictators who oppress us if we treat them reciprocally with violence and fire?
This question keeps bugging me as a person who's living under pressure and oppression.
I try to keep my pacifist disposition, and I believe that achieving peace and freedom through giving awareness and constructing the foundations of society from within can be a better alternative.
But the pace of progress is too sluggish and at times I start to think maybe drastic measures are necessary.
I'm oscillating between these two modes of opposition, and honestly, I have no idea which one is more effective.Ā
