My Written Soul

I scribbled my soul
On a riddled scroll,
Sealed it with
Seclusion and fear,
Placed that imperial edict
In a jar,
Offered it to
The impervious ocean,
Beheld it with
Joy and tear,
And waved goodbye
From afar.
Floating aimlessly
In the vast blue,
No life could seep into
Privacy.
No public gesture, no bustling tune
Was allowed to disturb
Intimacy.
But, what's a soul
Without a mate?
How can one define
Affection
In detention?
How am I what I am
If I'm not read
If I'm not discovered
By a ship-wrecked voyager?
Find me, I implore
Whoever
Whose written soul
Is as illegible as mine.
Touch me, I deplore
Seals, mysteries, and being unknown.
Find and break the jar
Lay your finger on
The red wax and open up
the scroll.
If your eyes could see,
And your mind could read,
And your heart would beat,
For my written soul,
Then I beg, sincerely,
Hold me close to your chest,
Be my eternal home.
Save me from my nest's
Salty solitude,
If not,
Don't patronize,
Don't pretend,
Do not sympathize.
Cast me aside,
Let my soul fly
In the oblivious sky.
